Interdisciplinary Work Focused on a Project (TIP)

Interdisciplinary project work is a requirement of the Vocational Baccalaureate, and students devote at least 40 credit hours to this work in their final year. These hours are included in the student’s course schedule, enabling them to set aside adequate time to prepare their projects.
Interdisciplinary project work must:

  • Focus on at least two Vocational Baccalaureate subjects.
  • Position the chosen topic in its social and cultural context.
  • Relate concretely to the world of work in general, not specifically to the profession studied.

Teamwork

Project work is managed by the student, who is supported by a team of teachers (two specialists in the discipline and one assistant). The assistant helps the student get started on the interdisciplinary project work and provides help whenever necessary.

Over the course of the project, the teaching team regularly assesses work in progress.
While students have the ultimate responsibility for their projects, guided by the teaching team, work is usually carried out in groups of three people.

Elements of Interdisciplinary Project Work

The three elements of interdisciplinary project work are:

  • Record of work
  • Summary report
  • Oral presentation
